Professional Caregiver Training Centers (PCTC) is a branch of Yavapai Care Services, LLC, dba Helping Hands In Home Care, a locally owned and well-established service business with a great reputation for providing high-quality non-medical in home care services to elderly, developmentally disabled and other disabled individuals in Yavapai County.

PCTC was established in response to the emergence of the Arizona Direct Care Curriculum Project, which in turn grew out of the Arizona Direct Care Workforce Initiative. The Direct Care Workforce Initiative is a collaborative venture of DES/ALTCS, a number of other governmental agencies, and a number of private service and advocacy organizations, whose purpose is to promote a stable and competent direct care workforce in Arizona. A major effort on their part has been to develop a model standardized training curriculum, uniform testing of students, and a program for monitoring training programs throughout the state.

Mandatory compliance began January 1, 2011.  All caregivers hired on or after Jan 1, 2011, that are caring for any clients where the payer is any state agency, are required to passed the written and skills testing by July 1, 2012. The PCTC training programs meet all the curriculum requirements which have been established to date, and will continue to meet any new requirements as they are developed and implemented. PCTC gained approval of its training program by the State of Arizona in October of 2010. In addition, PCTC’s training programs meet the requirements of both Yavapai County Long Term Care and the DES Division of Developmental Disabilities for caregivers providing services to those respective populations.

PCTC has two new training centers, one in Prescott and the other in Cottonwood. Both facilities are equipped with everything needed to effectively teach written learning materials and to provide hands-on, lab experiences in the various skills required of today’s well-trained caregivers. PCTC is also staffed by highly qualified instructors in the caregiving curricula, assuring students of the best training possible in Yavapai County.
